Sitting up is hard to do!

Well, today I am 3 months old! Mommy says she can't believe how fast time went. It's true. It seems like yesterday I was just in her tummy. I have accomplished a lot in my past 3 months. I can smile, laugh, grab things, baby talk, roll over, give kisses, and now I can almost (almost) sit up all by myself. Mommy says it will happen any day now and to just be patient. But, like my mommy, sometimes, I just want to do everything right now. Mommy says I am so strong because I was breech in her the whole time. When I asked what that means, she says I was in the head up position in her tummy. I never turned. Mommy says I must get my stubbornness from my daddy. ;) Here's a few pictures of me *almost* sitting up!

Almost! I almost got it.

Wow! That flash is bright!

   Mommy's helping out here.
Trying to sit up is MUCH harder than rolling over!

Rolling Ruby

I have really gotten good at rolling over from stomach to my back. It is not as easy as it looks. It took me 10 ½ weeks to master this task effortlessly, well, almost effortlessly. ;) Daddy finally got me doing it on video this afternoon while mommy was out running errands. Mommy was actually the first one to see me roll over 2 days ago. However, she thought it was a fluke because I was elevated on my tummy time mat. She was wrong. Today I did it on flat surface just so she could really see I could do it all by myself. I am sure it won’t be the last time I am able to prove my mommy wrong. ;)

Shots. And more shots.

Today was a big day for me. I went in for my 2-month checkup and received part I of my 2-month shots. Mommy and Daddy did a lot of research about the shots I got today, and both decided the benefits outweigh the risks. Mommy still worries, though.

I now weigh 12.8 pounds, and the doctor said I weigh more than 89% of other babies my age. I grew to 23.5 inches, and I am taller than 85% of other babies my age. So, in other words: I am a big girl now! :) My doctor said I looked very healthy and was proud of my progress. I can now hold my head up and turn it side to side. I am smiling all the time and laughing, too.

I go back in 2 weeks to get the rest of my 2-month shots. Mom says splitting them up is better so I am not getting so many at once. This way if I have a reaction we have a better idea of which shot caused it. All I know is that they hurt and going back in 2 weeks seems like double the pain to me. BUT, mommy knows best. ;)

Well, all this writing plus my baby Tylenol has made me a bit sleepy. Think I’ll go take a nap in my swing with my favorite stuffed animal, Pups.
