Baby Talkin' and almost Walkin'

It's been a while! Since my last post in March, a lot has happened. I sat up in April, just a few days before my 6-month birthday and I starting crawling right at about 7 months. On Tuesday, I will be 9 months old, and I just started standing on my own! I went on my first road trip to Nebraska to visit daddy's family in June. I have been taking swim lessons in June & July. I just love the water. Mommy says it's the Scorpio in me. I can say: hi, hey, kitty, and dada with no prompt. I can repeat: thank you, gentle, and doggie. No mama yet! Mommy is waiting for that day, but I am saving the best for last! :) I have been having so much fun since mommy has had the summer off. We have been spending a lot of time together reading books and being silly. Below is a little clip of me standing up and taking a few steps hanging onto the couch. Excuse my whininess, but this is what happens when I don't take a super long afternoon nap. ;)

Buddy Talk

I could pet Plato all day long. But, alas, it seemed he had somewhere else to be.

Packed & ready for daycare!

Tomorrow I get to be a big girl & go to daycare. I am so excited to be around other kids. Last time daddy went on a business trip he bought me back a backpack key chain. It says, "Brave". He thought I might need it one day. He put it on my daycare backpack tonight. Daddy is so sweet and thoughtful, I didn't have the heart to tell him that I don't need it. I really think he should have given it to mom. ;)

Lions & Tigers & Bees, Oh My!

Today I visited the zoo for the first time. It was so much fun! I saw so many animals I have only been read to about until now: owls, otters, lions, tigers, and bees! Yes, bees. The zoo was swarming with them today! They kept coming in my stroller for some reason, so daddy had to put me in the baby bjorn to keep them away. Mommy is very scared of bees because she has been stung before and made a quite a spectacle out of herself by running from them at times. Never a dull moment with my Mommy! ;) I would have to say my favorites of the all the animals were the reptiles. Don't tell mommy, but I am thinking of asking for a pet snake for Christmas. ;)

Next up: Daddy time!

Well, today was my mommy's last day home with me. Back to work for her tomorrow. We had such a great time bonding, but from what I am told all good things must come to an end at some point. Tomorrow is that day for us. She seemed a little sad, but I tried to cheer her up as best I could with my giggles and my laughs, and daddy took her out to dinner. Starting tomorrow, daddy will be staying home with me for 4 weeks! I am super excited about this. Daddy and I always have the best time together. He tells me funny jokes and I love to pull at his beard. Mommy seems happy he will be staying home and has already made him a honey-do list. Daddy didn't seem so thrilled, but I figure I can probably help him with some of it. I think I'll miss the mornings most with mommy. Just me and her dancing around the living room listening to The Beatles. That reminds me! I need to remember to tell daddy to play "Good Day Sunshine" first thing every morning. Best way to start the day. :)

Auntie Kristin Visits

This week mommy's best friend, Kristin, came all the way from California to Victoria, Texas to visit me. It was really cool to meet my mommy's friend who she used to play dress up with when she was 11. We had a lot of fun, and hope she comes back soon!!! Mommy said I visited her in San Francisco over the summer when I was in her tummy, but I can't remember any of that. Kinda feel I got cheated on that one and definitely think we should go back. I am just dying to check out the children's park at Golden Gate Park. Maybe next summer when I am big enough play. :) Here are a few photos of our visit.
